Wilderness Survival
This is an introduction to outdoor survival principles. It’s great for those who are eager to gain confidence in the outdoors and navigate challenges safely. The course combines lecture-style teaching with hands-on training in essential skills:
Remaining calm in challenging scenarios and how to prioritize your needs
Building emergency shelters with carried supplies and a few basic knots
Signaling for help
Fire building
Water collection and safety
Campout & Tubing
This is the perfect get away to enjoy North Georgia nature with all the luxuries ‘car camping’ can provide. Enjoy delicious meals, new friends, and a relaxing day on the clear waters of the Chattahoochee River.
Peaks & Geeks will help you break in your new or old gear, provide safety precautions and planning and create a fun, inclusive and inviting atmosphere where all are welcome.
CAR CAMPING: Sleeping in a tent that you don’t have to carry on your back for miles and miles and miles. Eating delicious foods that may weigh a ton with fresh garnishes and the luxury of coolers and chilled beverages. This experience is often (often but not always) paired with flush toilet bathrooms and hot showers. Different from backpacking in many ways, all boiling down to a level of comfort, luxury and self respect that even the most hardened wilderness lovers deserve from time to time.
